Ways to stay warm and not waste energy this winter

Here are some ways to stay warm and not waste energy this winter. Keeping yourself cozy when it's cold out can lead to an expensive utility bill. To avoid this issue, here are a few preparation tips before winter weather sets in. Locate any drafts and air leaks in your living areas and plug them up with caulk or weatherstrips. Dusting your radiators or vents will allow warm air to flow from them more efficiently. Replace your furnace filter and make sure it's clean, as a dirty one obstructs air from the heating system. Use heavier and thicker curtains on windows that usually do not receive sunlight. When it does get cold out, cooking at home will bring in extra heat from the oven or stove.
