Research released Wednesday December 1, 2004, said her last novel, Jackson's Dilemma (published in 1995), revealed the first signs she was suffering from Alzheimer's disease. Researchers from University College London compared her novel with her earlier works, and said the vocabularly indicated the first signs of the disease, which she was diagnosed with in 1997.
