The North American Indigenous Games 2023 have held their opening ceremonies, with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in attendance. Thousands of Indigenous athletes from across the continent filled the main hockey arena in Halifax, and they greeted the prime minister’s speech with a mix of cheers and boos. (July 17, 2023)
