Understory

Wild Sumatran Tiger (Panthera tigris sumatrae) footprints are seen on the ground surface inside one of the locations where the Leuser Ecosystem forest area has been converted into an oil palm plantation. The picture was taken at coordinates 03°57'45.0" N 098°01'36.5" E on June 6 2018. The Non-Governmental Organization Sustainable Forest Advocacy (Lembahtari) protested against several oil palm plantations within the Gunung Leuser National Park area in particular the border between the provinces of Aceh and North Sumatra, Indonesia. "Until now, this six-year-old palm oil plantation has been absorbing the community's water pockets in the Gunung Leuser protected forest area and has reaped a series of flood disasters after," said Lembahtari Chairman, Sayed Zainal.
