05/08/2022 Yerevan, Armenia. Citizens of Armenia visit Yerablur Military Pantheon, a military cemetery located on the outskirts of Yerevan on May 8. Soldiers who lost their lives during first two Nagorno-Karabakh wars are buried at this location as well those who passed in recent clashes. Between 12 and 14 of September 2022, a series of clashes erupted between Armenian and Azerbaijani troops along the border, marking a major escalation resulting in nearly 300 deaths and dozens of injuries on both sides. Every year citizens come to Yerablur to pay respect to their loved ones who lost their lives. Azerbaijan is currently occupying at least 215 square kilometers of Armenian territory and has not withdrawn its troops from internationally recognized Armenian territory despite calls to do so by the European Parliament, United States and France.
