Blair denies telling RCMP commissioner to release info on N.S. shootings

Former public safety minister Bill Blair is denying that his office or the Prime Minister's Office directed the RCMP commissioner to release information about the weapons used in a shooting spree that left 22 people dead in Nova Scotia in April 2020. Supt. Darren Campbell's notes have been released as part of a public inquiry into the killings. They say Commissioner Brenda Lucki promised the PMO that the RCMP would release descriptions of the weapons, adding that the information "was tied to pending gun control legislation that would make officers and public safer."
