B.C. plans to spend despite expected downturn

British Columbia’s New Democrat government says it plans to spend this year’s projected surplus of almost $6 billion despite a projected economic slowdown. House Leader Ravi Kahlon says the government’s throne speech outlining its political agenda for the coming months says people and businesses need help now and cuts to programs and services are not on the horizon despite a projected slowdown.
