Scarborough’s ‘Shook’ is a love letter to Toronto’s margins

"Shook" is a dramedy about a South Asian man from Scarborough trying to make it as an artist while navigating his family’s unravelling and a romantic entanglement. Director Amar Wala says he wanted to make a Toronto film that captures what it’s like to be a young person from the suburbs. (Aug. 7, 2025)
