New data from Pompeii shows that the city was still inhabited after the eruption of 79 AD

Life in the ancient Roman city of Pompeii did not end with the volcanic eruption of 79 AD. New data and traces uncovered during the restoration work on the Insula Meridionalis – the southern district of Pompeii's centre – show that the city was reoccupied after the eruption, presumably by survivors who returned and by people coming from other places.
