Watch ad and Reagan address at centre of Trump ending Canada trade talks
U.S. President Donald Trump announced he was ending trade talks with Canada over an Ontario government ad campaign related to tariffs that features remarks from former U.S. president Ronald Regan. The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation & Institute posted on social media on Oct. 23 that the ads misrepresent the president's address and said Ontario did not seek or receive permission to "use and edit the remarks." Here is the ad and the original 1987 Reagan address the commercial uses. (Oct. 24, 2025)
