Newsroom Ready: Carney, McGuinty meet Canadian troops in Poland
Prime Minister Mark Carney and Defence Minister David McGuinty meet with troops stationed in Warsaw as part of Operation Unifier which provides training to Ukrainian soldiers. Carney called the Canadian Armed Forces "the best of Canada", and said their work training Ukrainian soldiers is essential for any future security guarantee in Ukraine. Carney and McGuinty made a surprise visit to Ukraine earlier in this trip, and will also visit Germany and Latvia. (Aug. 25, 2025)
