The attack came a day after U.S. President Donald Trump put his planned meeting with Russia's leader Vladimir Putin on hold, saying he didn’t want it to be a “waste of time.” The large-scale overnight aerial attack targeted Kyiv, the Ukrainian capital, and the wider Kyiv region, as well as other cities in the country, including Zaporizhzhia and the port city of Izmail in the southern Odesa region.
