Joly on General Motors ending BrightDrop production in Ingersoll, Ont.

Speaking in Ottawa this morning, Federal Industry Minister Mélanie Joly says news General Motors is ending production of its BrightDrop electric delivery van in Ingersoll, Ont. is tough for the automotive sector. Joly says a new response group will bring together government and industry representatives to protect manufacturing jobs in Canada. (Oct. 21, 2025)
