A colorful group of about 200 Vodou followers gathered Thursday in Port-au-Prince for a “march for peace,” but authorities blocked their march through the streets of the Haitian capital, citing security concerns. The march was called by popular Vodou priest Augustin Saint Clou, who assembled a crowd dressed in purple, the color of Gede—the spirits of the dead—who danced to the frenetic rhythm of drums.
