Champagne calls for 'leaner' government

Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne discusses Ottawa's spending review and says recent growth in federal spending is "not sustainable." Champagne is in Toronto for the second day of meetings with Prime Minister Mark Carney and the rest of cabinet ahead of Parliament's return in less than two weeks. (Sept. 4, 2025)
