Scientists trek Tajikistan mountains to obtain ice core samples to learn about global warming

A team of international scientists has drilled deep ice cores in glaciers in Tajikistan to collect centuries of climate data trapped in the ice. The ice, drilled from 105 metres below the surface, can help scientists better understand the changing climate.
