The New Horizon Mall in Calgary has more than 500 retail spaces but only 73 are occupied. The mall developers have sold most of the units, ranging from 145 to 530 square feet, to individual owners who can either rent them out or set up their own businesses. This week, the developer is announcing that Best Shop, described as an Asian Walmart, will occupy about 15,000 square feet and open in May. It hopes to land a second anchor soon and then will have a grand opening.
