EDMONTON. x--16s. Edmonton police have charged a 23-year-old man with forging Connor McDavid's signature on Oilers jerseys and selling the gear as part of an alleged fraud scheme. Police say someone claiming to be working for either the Oilers or a sports memorabilia retailer used Facebook to contact people about selling the jerseys. Constable Derek Burns says alleged victims were told they could make money by investing in the sale of the merchandise, which buyers were supposedly lining up to purchase.

TAG: Chandra Vinesh Singh, who is 23, will be in court September 23rd on fraud, forgery and false pretence charges. Police say five people have come forward to lay complaints, although they believe there may be more.
