Chiefs from the Tsilhqot'in (SILL'-koh-teen) Nation joined local chiefs to honour an Indigenous leader who was wrongfully hanged 154 years ago today, after five of his companions were also executed months earlier. he death of Chief Ahan (ah-HAWN') has been remembered every year since he was killed in 1865, but Chief Jimmy Lulua (LOO'-loo-ah) says today was the first time for such a large gathering and one that was hosted by the City of New Westminster.
