OTTAWA. x--17s. The federal government is promising 900-million-dollars in compensation to settle multiple class-action lawsuits filed by survivors of sexual harassment, gender discrimination and sexual assault in the military. One claim said the Armed Forces was poisoned by a discriminatory and sexualized culture that encouraged sexual misconduct and was caused by a failure in leadership. Plaintiff Amy Graham says she understands that taxpayers might be angry at the amount of money involved.

TAG: Graham was assaulted by a superior while returning from a deployment in Afghanistan. She says reducing the number of victims was the main motivation behind the suit.
