These Chinese workers prepare to remove excess flesh and fat from the pelt of a freshly skinned mink at a processing plant in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, China on December 2, 2008. Modern farms today are highly mechanized in order to produce quantity that meets the demand of the ever growing fur industry in China. The mink is the most commonly farmed animal for its fur with China ranked as the largest importer and re-exporter of fur in the world. China supplies more than half of the finished fur garments imported for sale in the United States. Photo by Simon Lim/Pictobank/ABACAPRESS.COM
