Bank of Canada governor Tiff Macklem says there will be long-term economic damage from the COVID-19 pandemic as the country charts a prolonged and bumpy course to recovery. Speaking at his first press conference since becoming the country's top central banker, Macklem says the bank will provide something akin to an economic outlook next month.
