India Nagaland WWII Photo Gallery

In this Oct. 15, 2014 photo, a gardener walks past the preserved outlines of a tennis court around where some of the fiercest battles were fought in Kohima, now part of the Kohima War Cemetery, the final resting place of more than 1,420 Commonwealth servicemen of World War II, in Kohima, India. Between April and June 1944, Japanese and British Commonwealth forces fought across Kohima and the area around it in a battle that has been chosen as Britain's greatest battle by the National Army Museum, along with their battle in neighboring Imphal region.
