A Mother's Day tradition in Alaska: Mingling with Ice Age survivors
Mother’s Day is the traditional start of the summer season for the Musk Ox Farm in Palmer, about an hour’s drive north of Anchorage. All moms get a flower, free admission and the chance to get up close with musk oxen: hefty Ice Age survivors whose ancestors once roamed the Earth with saber-toothed tigers and mastodons.
