Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas expressed support for Egypt's proposal for the reconstruction of Gaza on Tuesday as he addressed a summit of Arab leaders. A meeting in Cairo later backed the counterproposal to US President Donald Trump’s call for the Gaza Strip to be depopulated and transformed into a beach destination, even as the continuation of the Israel-Hamas ceasefire is uncertain.
