Juneteenth's roots go back to the document that declared freedom for the enslaved people in Texas

Among the orders issued as Union troops arrived in Texas at the end of the Civil War was one declaring that all enslaved people in the state were now free, and had “absolute equality.” (AP Video: Kendria LaFleur)
