Newsroom Ready: All B.C. events should be assessed for risk, report says

A report on the safety of public events in B.C. says all such gatherings should have a risk assessment. The report by a former judge Christopher Hickson makes six recommendations, including the development of a provincial hub for information. Terry Yung, the minister of state for community safety, says the province fully accepts the intent of the report and will implement its recommendations as soon as possible. (July 9, 2025)
