Montreal public health investigating 17 suspected monkeypox cases

Montreal public health officials say the are looking into 17 suspected cases of monkeypox in the Montreal area. Dr. Mylène Drouin says lab confirmation is forthcoming, but based on recent outbreaks in Europe and a case reported Wednesday in the United States with ties to Montreal, officials think the cases involve the virus linked to monkeypox. Most cases identified in the city are not severe.
