How to cope with mental health in the COVID-19 winter

Psychologists are worried about the mental health toll of
COVID-19 this winter.
With shorter days ahead and holiday events already cancelled, the concern is depression.
Less chances for outdoor exercise and low job security could increase depression rates too.
Mental health is not something somebody else struggles with anymore — it's something we're all struggling with now, Steve Joordens, psychology professor, University of Toronto.
One expert says it’s important to keep up the same activities with friends and family, even if they are far away.
We're going to be finding more creative ways… having game night over Zoom, having a movie night where you're both watching the same movie, Noreen Sibanda, registered provisional psychologist in Edmonton.
And remember, you’re not the only one going through this.
One physical sign of depression to watch for is low energy.
Anxiety can cause heavy breathing and sweating.
Learning relaxation techniques, exercise and walking can help.
And remember, the pandemic won’t last forever
