HKY-SUMMIT-BERGMAN

Gary Bergman, one of the unsung heroes of hockey's 1972 Summit Series, is too ill to attend a team reunion next week at the Hockey Hall of Fame. Bergman, 62, shown in this Sept., 1972 photo, has a brain tumour and will be in the thoughts of his former teammates when they congregate in Toronto for the Nov. 10 unveiling of a monument to their triumph over the Soviet Union in the eight-game series 28 years ago.
