NORWAY KON TIKI II

Thor Heyerdahl, Norwegian ethnologist and head of the Kon-Tiki expedition, arrives in San Francisco, Calif., from the South Pacific, in this Sept. 29, 1947, photo. Nearly 60 years after Heyerdahl sailed his Kon-Tiki balsa raft across the Pacific to prove a theory about ancient mariners, a team that includes his grandson plans to recreate the 101-day epic voyage _ although the craft will have solar panels, a satellite navigation system and a link to the Internet. The team plans to embarkon their voyage April 28, 2005. (AP Photo)
