Russia US Spying

Former CIA agent Aldrich Ames leaves federal court after pleading guilty to espionage and tax evasion conspiracy charges in Alexandria, Va., USA, in this photo dated Thursday, April 28,1994. Aldrich, the highest ranking CIA employee ever caught spying, was sentenced to life in prison. As a CIA officer in Turkey, Ames worked to turn Russians against their government, but in 1985, he switched sides himself and offered his services to the Soviets and continued working for the Russians after the Cold War, passing dozens of names of people spying for the U.S. to his Russian masters who executed 10 of them. On Tuesday May 14, 2013, Russian security services announced they had detained a U.S. diplomat who they claim is a CIA official for allegedly trying to recruit a Russian agent.
