OLY Calgary Flashback

FILE--Britain's ski jumper Eddie the Eagle Edwards signs autographs at a Calgary nightspot Thursday, Feb. 19, 1988, where he appeared with a Las Vegas revue, "Red, White and Hot." The 1988 Winter Olympics celebrated the quirkiness of the human spirit as much as gold medals won.The host country captured just five medals in Calgary and none of them were gold. So when Canadians recall those 16 days of competition two decades ago, Eddie the Eagle and the Jamaican bobsled team probably come to mind as quickly as the Battle of the Brians and Elizabeth Manley's emotional silver medal in figure skating.
