Bus Safety 20190612

The wreckage of a fatal crash outside of Tisdale, Sask., is seen Saturday, April, 7, 2018. A bus carrying the Humboldt Broncos hockey team crashed into a truck en route to Nipawin for a game Friday night killing 16 and sending over a dozen more to the hospital. A committee of MPs who conducted a probe into bus passenger safety in Canada has decided not to call for seat belts to be installed in Canadian school buses, urging instead the need for further study. The House of Commons transportation committee launched an investigation into bus safety, including school buses, following the deadly Humboldt Broncos crash in Saskatchewan last year that killed 16 people and injured 13 others.
