Orphaned Sea Otters 20240730

A baby sea otter named Tofino, who was rescued on June 18 and is estimated to be two to three-months-old, plays with a toy while swimming after having blood drawn, a microchip inserted and her teeth checked, at the Vancouver Aquarium's Marine Mammal Rescue Centre in Vancouver, on Tuesday, July 30, 2024. The centre is also caring for another female pup named Luna, who is estimated to be three-weeks-old and was found July 13 on Vargas Island, near Tofino, B.C., with remnants of her umbilical cord still attached, after also apparently being abandoned by her mother.
