Gov. Gen. Mary Simon agreed to prorogue Parliament until March 24 at Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's request. The move suspends the House of Commons for two months, wiping clear the current slate of bills and delays any opportunities for non-confidence votes until the spring.(Jan. 6, 2025)
