Newfoundland fisherman says police officer broke his leg during protest

Richard Martin, a 52-year-old fisherman from Seal Cove, N.L., says a Royal Newfoundland Constabulary officer broke his leg in three places during a fish harvesters’ protest at the province’s legislature building. The protestors blocked civil servants from getting into the building, forcing the government to delay its delivery of the provincial budget. (May 1, 2024)
