Justin Bieber publicly apologizes for past racist remarks

Justin Bieber has apologized in a post on Instagram for making racist remarks in the past. In a post on Dec. 3, Bieber addressed his “shortcomings,” saying his goal was to "take ownership." According to the 25-year-old singer, his mistakes were due to being “uneducated” when he was younger. The Stratford, Ont.,-native is reportedly referencing a 2014 incident when video emerged of him telling racist jokes as a teenager. He received a lot of backlash during that time. Bieber then used his post to directly reference racism, saying he wanted to “use [his] voice” for good.
