Injured Humboldt Bronco gets massive tattoo to honour teammates

The day most people would want to forget is being permanently marked by many friends and family members of the victims of the Humboldt Broncos bus crash in the form of tattoos. April 6, 2018 saw 16 people die and 13 others injured when a semi-truck roared through a stop sign north of Tisdale, Sask. It's head coach Darcy Haugan, several players, an assistant coach, an athletic therapist, a broadcaster, a truck driver and the team statistician were among the victims. Several of the players, including Ryan Straschnitzki, have a tattoo of a favourite saying of the team's head coach 'It's a great day to be a Bronco gentlemen. Layne Matechuk and his father has the word 'Believe' along with his jersey number. They believe he will recover from the brain damage sustained in the crash.
