Governor General Foot Guard 20230707

Sweat rolls down the face of Ceremonial Guard Cpl. Yeomans of the Canadian Grenadier Guards (CGG) regiment as he performs his Sentry Duties at Rideau Hall, the residence of the Governor General of Canada in Ottawa on Friday, July 7, 2023. The Ceremonial Guards are comprised of two regiments and are easily distinguishable by their unique dress: The Canadian Grenadier Guards (CGG) were the first regiment and have a single row of buttons on their tunics. Other details include grenades on their collars and a white plume on their black bearskin caps. The second regiment was the Governor General's Foot Guards (GGFG) who have a double row of buttons on their tunics and sport a red plume on their black bearskin caps.
