Federal government announces new measures to protect renters

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced measures that he says will help protect Canadian renters. The steps, which will be part of the 2024 federal budget, include a $15-million Tenant Protection Fund, creating a new Canadian Renters' Bill of Rights and ensuring renters get credit for on-time payments to their landlord. (March 27, 2024)
