Carney holds cabinet retreat in Toronto ahead of fall sitting
Prime Minister Mark Carney is holding private meetings with his cabinet in Toronto this week ahead of the fall legislative sitting. This is Carney's second cabinet retreat since winning the spring election, and the first involving his new chief of staff. While the Prime Minister’s Office has not said what is on the agenda, it’s clear that U.S. President Donald Trump’s shadow will loom over the meetings. (Sept. 2, 2025)
