Cargill meat packing plant reopens after two week shutdown

After a two week shutdown as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic the Cargil meatpacking plant south of Calgary has reopened for business. Cargill announced April 20 it was temporarily shutting down after 900 cases of the virus and one death at the plant that has 2,000 workers. The union representing the workers, still concerned about the health of its workers, held a rally on the edge of the property and handed out face masks.
