Canadian handgun freeze comes into effect

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau marked the implementation of the government’s ban on buying, selling or transferring handguns saying the action has frozen the market for handguns in the country. Trudeau called the freeze “one of the strongest actions we’ve taken on gun violence in a generation".
