Canada to welcome 45,000 refugees this year: Mendicino

Immigration Minister Marco Mendicino says Ottawa will resettle more refugees in Canada by bolstering an existing economic pilot program to settle 500 refugees and their families. He says the Liberal government will also increase the number of protected persons it will welcome this year from 23,500 to 45,000.
